Good Morning, here is the news:
Team Meeting— Thursday, 9 August, 6-7pm, in the
Senior Center. Our primary topic will be the coming Fire Season.
We'll talk about CERT participation in a progressive disaster such as
this. Bradley Buffett has volunteered to share his experiences with two
previous deployments in 2003 and 2007. This is good first hand
information, I hope you can make it. Anybody else who was there, if you
want to say a few words, let me know in advance so I can manage the time.
Telephone Tree—We are looking for a few volunteers
for our telephone tree. Basically, if we are called out, you have to take
a short deployment message from me (or Jennifer, or from SDF&R if we are
both off doing something) and relay that message accurately via telephone to
about 8 people. In my experience it takes 10-15 minutes. If you are
interested in helping with this, contact me directly via email. I want to
have at least one practice run sometime in August.
Hours Due—That's it for July. Wow, seemed
short. Volunteer hours are due, please report if you attended the team
meeting this last month, or any other volunteer hours, relevant instruction,
etc. I'd like to have everything by close of business tomorrow. If
you have ANY questions about what you should be reporting, please drop me a
note.
